This site is a tribute to John Clark Alley, who was born in Waldron, Arkansas on May 31, 1928 to John and Virginia Alley. John served in the Army Air Corps during WWII and worked most of his civilian life for Southern California Edison. (For so many he literally lit up their world!) John was an avid hunter, fisherman, mountain and countryman, patriot and story teller (and oh the stories he had to tell......). John spent his post-Edison (retirement years) in continued service to his community and working for various companies including WalMart. John was an exceptional handyman and used those skills frequently for his home and in helping others. He donated much of his time volunteering at local hospitals, rest homes (helping the elderly) and helping whoever needed it. John is survived by his wife, Jane Alley; his sisters, Jane Scott, Avie Roblyer, and Angelina Betty Castillo; his children by birth and marriage: Christine Howard, Cathy Cole, Catherine Yielding, Nolan Spencer, Joseph Spencer and Stephanie Mello; grandchildren Paul Howard, Rebekah Howard, Shannon Kocses, Heather Larson, Erik Yielding, Jason Foy, Christopher Foy, and Brianna Boyd, as well as 19 great grandchildren. He leaves behind more friends than one can imagine. Words cannot express the impact John had on the lives of those he touched. He gave freely of his heart and hands wherever they were needed. He lived life to the fullest every day.
A memorial service is planned for 30 October 2016, Bishop, California, 12:00 (High Noon) at the Bishop VFW Chapter Hall. You are welcome to join us as we bid safe passage and farewell to this very special man who now hunts and fishes in the hills and valleys above.
